Isn't it crazy how the church is getting attacked left and right?
There are churches popping up everywhere that claim to be Roman Catholic Churches and they mimic what we do in our churches but they are not affiliated with the Archdiocese.
We have been out and about, inviting people from other parishes and making them aware of the retreat.
It's been great to see so many people going to mass. I was pleasantly surprised at the full parking lots in some of the parishes. It's very encouraging!
I have to admit, this has been a really good learning experience to talk with people and listen to their questions and concerns. The most common question is if we are affiliated with the Archdiocese.
After seeing for myself today, by getting myself into a little mishap, I can completely understand why that question keeps coming up.
Ready for another funny story? How do I get myself into these situations? Ay, ay, ay 🫣
As we were driving around stopping at different churches, I saw a church I had never seen before. The sign indicated it was "Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Latin Mass, and Nuestra Señora la Conquistadora Academy".
Sounds Catholic right?
When I passed on the other side of the street it seemed the gates were closed. When I went and made a u-turn to come back, the gate was open.
As I drove into the parking lot I saw a few people, men and boys in suit and tie, ladies and girls in dresses. Looks a little different but . . . ok.
As I backed up into a parking spot, I noticed the electronic gate was closing. oh oh.🤦♀️
As I turn to look around again, no people. Hmmmmm? 🤔😬
My brain got to work on how I'm going to get out of this, as I sit in my jeep laughing, eeejole! 🤣😂 I'm locked inside the gates.
There were only a few cars in the parking lot. It was after mass time. I definitely do not look like I belong there. (I was in shorts and hiking sandals. 🤭)
Good thing I don't usually panic, right?
I figured I would wait until one of the few cars that were there left, since they had the code or opener for the electronic gate, and I would follow them out of my dilemma. Yikes!
I was sitting in my jeep, laughing so hard. 🤣🤣🤣😅😅 interesting situation to be in for sure. 😄
Why not share the laughter right?
As I started to text the other two who were helping, but in a different location. Then I noticed movement! A car was passing in front of me!
Time to make my move!

In our zeal for "getting the word out", and inviting people, it's brought more awareness about how we need to be cautious about who and what to believe. (And which parking lot we get into. 😂🤣)
All the more reason to learn as much as we can about the true church Christ started and what it all means.
We can't stand strong on our faith if we don't know what it is, and can be easily deceived right?
