You know when amazing blessings are going to happen when the evil one throws many obstacles, right?
It's an indication that we are on the right track! Bring it on! The Holy Spirit is our fearless warrior.
The first session was challenging to say the least.
During the set-up, I accidently cut the tip of my finger off when preparing snacks. Even though it was just the tip, it was tough to stop the bleeding.
With no time to spare, using my thumb to apply pressure, I used one hand to move tables and chairs to set up. Then moved to setting up computer equipment, TV, webcam, speakers, etc.
Once the bleeding let up enough, I bandaged it using one hand. Yikes. The bandage was tight to keep the pressure on the wound. It was throbbing during the session.
Needless to say, it took a while longer to do things, so I asked a friend if she could help. She was on her way to mass. I looked at everything that still needed to get done and decided to prioritize and focus.
With equipment set up and ready to test, I signed on and connected with our group in Estancia online. We tested their equipment as people were beginning to come in. My friend showed up and finished the things in the kitchen that I was not able to finish.
To to it all off, it was extremely windy. The wind was interfering with the internet connection. Our other groups joining online were diehards and kept reconnecting as my connection was cutting off as well. Thank you for sticking it out!
Most of our online individual participants gave up with the exception of 2! Thank you two for sticking it out too!
God was definitely helping me to stay focused and trying to deliver our first presentation.
All in all it went well in spite of the obstacles. We shall persevere!
Right now I am struggling to type as I can't use one of my fingers! LOL. It helps us appreciate all of our fingers, that's for sure.
If you are interested in joining the Lenten Retreat Sessions, it's not too late.
