What are angels, really?

Last Tuesday was the feast of the Archangels. As I was looking for images of angels I was happy to find images of angels that were not wimpy looking.

You know what I mean?

The angels as depicted in the Bible are huge and powerful beings. I wouldn't want to mess with them.

We are told that we each have a guardian angel and that there are angels all around us.

Unfortunately they are not all good angels. Lucifer was a mighty angel of light before he decided to reject God's plan for humans. He was cast out of Heaven.

Interesting, isn't it? Fascinating actually.

Here's a challenge for you. Look through the bible and see how many angels you find? Do you get the impression that they are wimpy?

The image shown here jumped out at me when I saw it. Angels are majestic and powerful. I have yet to find a statue of St. Michael that looks majestic and powerful, you?

If you do, please show me!

The feast of the Guardian Angels is coming up soon. How about we all spend some time learning and getting to know our own Guardian Angel?
