Unexpected Blessings

In the Fall of last year, I heard about St. Jude relics that were going to tour North America. They have a website of where they are going to be and more information about St. Jude and relics, etc. (link below)

Just in case you may not know, St. Jude is an Apostle of Jesus, who was also his first cousin.

For a few months, I kept checking to see when he was coming to New Mexico. After a few months... I stopped looking.

On Wednesday, a friend mentioned it as we were driving. He IS in New Mexico! He is in Albuquerque on Wednesday, and in Santa Fe on Thursday. 😳

Oh my! This is a once in a life time opportunity! I've been listening to Fr. Carlos Martins, who is doing the tour. He shares of many miracles happening, etc.

This was all while we were driving to the mountains to look at the facility mentioned in the previous post. As you can imagine, my mind went on to the mountains, and then became immersed in "all about the retreat".

As I was spending time with God in prayer Thursday morning, it came back to me! So I looked it up. (Thank you Monica for the quick link).

To make a long story short, we went to Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Parish in Santa Fe

(Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish) to venerate St. Jude's relics!

Below is a picture of the huge painting they have on display of St. Jude.

The relic is part of St. Jude's bone, of his arm. The picture below is from a distance and through the glass. There are better images on the website.

Below is the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe statue in front of the Parish of the same name in Santa Fe, NM.

Did you know that if you touch items to the glass encasement of a saint's relics, they become 3rd class relics? And they are as efficacious as 1st class relics in how God uses them to bless us?

Don't take my word for it. Look it up. (Hint: it's in the website. Link below)

A quick update on the retreat! We have a tentative date. Mark your calendars! Those of you following the Blogs get first "heads-up". There will be limited beds and limited space to park RV's. More info coming soon.

We have tentative facility reservations for August 9th, 10th and 11th.

The goal is to start the retreat on Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday until we serve lunch.

Keep an eye out for early registration. I will post the link here as soon as we confirm everything.
