It's Amazing how God works, isn't it?

Writer: Geri SalazarGeri Salazar

Us humans are interesting creatures. We doubt. We get nervous. Our gut gets out of sync. We get excited and nervous all at the same time, right!?

When we started planning for this Retreat we were very excited and elated to share what we had experienced. It's already been a few months since we started.

Since then, it's been a mix of emotions and it's been quite the journey of listening, learning, and getting to know who you can count on, who keeps their word, who follows through, who is sincere, who you can depend on, who is receptive, who is doubtful, and the list goes on.

The thing is, we need it all. Everyone has value and purpose. We get stretched and shrunk. We get tested and edified. All of it! The "whole enchilada" is super valuable.

We've come full circle. The Retreat is only a few weeks away and we are even more elated now, along with nervous, gut out of sync., and it goes on.

We are looking forward to meeting new people and reuniting with previous retreat participants.

In preparation for the retreat, I spent a couple of days at the retreat facility.

When I was headed towards the Pecos Wilderness, some dark clouds were hovering over what seemed like the area where the retreat facility is located.

A friend and I met for lunch in Pecos and the rain started pouring. It was flying off the roof. It stopped raining as we were leaving the restaurant.

Here goes to an adventure through a wet dirt road through the mountains, you think? Let the fun begin.

To my surprise, the roads were not as muddy as expected. The rain had washed away all tracks of any vehicles. There was evidence that the water had run across the road in places. In spite of the downpour, there was no need for 4-wheel drive. There was hardly any mud on the road.

It was so nice to be in the mountains. The sound of the breeze through the pines is amazing. The evening was a mix of sun, drizzling rain, and cool breezes.

One of the treats was getting up early and watching the sun come over the mountain.

The early morning, crisp, cool air was breathtaking. The sound of the birds singing away, an occasional sound of the water as the fish broke through the surface to snatch the low flying insects, all of it was great!

I spent time in the chapel just under the crucifix about where it seemed as if Jesus was looking right at me. Brought tear to my eyes.

It's going to be amazing at this retreat!

All in all, it's an amazing adventure ride. We have a great team and a full house of wonderful people. And best of all, we have the Holy Spirit to liven it all up!

Woohoo!

Please keep us in your prayers.

We will be praying for you.
